A STEP BACK IN TIME:
BEHIND THE SCENES AT HALSTON
Halston was an American fashion designer who rose to international fame in the 1970s. His minimalist, clean designs were often made of cashmere or Ultrasuede. Our special guest, Beverly, first worked as an assistant to Charles James in a studio space provided to him by Halston. Then she moved on to work as an assistant to Halston for two and half years. She will share her experiences with us.
BLUE RIBBON BOUND?
The New Jersey State Fair, August 2-10, 2024 at the Sussex County Fairground in Augusta, N.J., is a great place to get some recognition for your sewing projects. Our second special guest is Barbara Thomas, the Fair’s director for Creative Arts for Home and Hobby (CAHH). Barbara is the “go to” person for categories, rules and scoring for the CAHH categories, which includes sewing and handicrafts.
OUR FAVORITE SEWING BOOKS
Member share! What’s your favorite sewing book? Does it focus on basic sewing, advanced techniques, specialty fabrics, fitting methods? Inquiring minds want to know!
Our program will be one hour BUT consider staying on for the After Party (8:45—?). Chat with your fellow ASG members and guests. Catch up on everyone’s news, and show off your sewing
endeavors during Sew ‘n Tell. It’s the next best thing to being together in person.
It’s going to be another fun evening!
