During the pandemic, we’re all missing the camaraderie of our Neighborhood Groups. So we've introduced The SEW, our new chapter-wide virtual Neighborhood Group.
The SEW stands for Share Everything Workshop. Think of TV shows like The Talk or The Chew. While we can’t have a real TV show, we can emulate one as a monthly gathering via Zoom. The guests on our talk show are our very own members and our retail supporters.
Participation in The SEW is free to all ASG members.
In keeping with ASG policy, guests are welcome to attend two The SEW presentations free of charge. After that, you must be an ASG member to attend. If you would like to attend as a member or a guest, please email us.
Tuesday, July 27th
7:30 pm-8:30 pm via Zoom
Elizabeth Anderson, Stony Brook Sew & Vac, will be our retail guest. She will introduce us to their re-located store and talk about free-motion quilting, using a special sewing machine ruler foot and templates.
Fleece Hats: ASG member Nitasha started a community service project making fleece hats for the Ozanum Family Shelter in Edison. She will share her experiences and talk about how to make this easy, head-warming (and heart-warming) project.
“This Ain’t Your Grandmother’s Needlepoint”: ASG member Andrea will share some modern needlearts techniques to combine with your sewing projects.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
July 8-11, 2021
Click on the date for details.
Help us Celebrate Summer! Wear your favorite sunhat and sunglasses! Bring a cooling drink to toast the season! We will take a group photo (gallery view) at the beginning of The SEW.
Our program will be one hour BUT consider staying on for our After Party (8:30 - ?). Chat with your fellow ASG members, catch up on everyone’s news, and show off your sewing endeavors during Sew ‘n Tell. It’s the next best thing to being together in person.
