Introduction to Modern American Bojagi Piecework
A Three-hour Hands-on Virtual Class
with Sewing Expert Katrina Walker
Join us on Saturday, March 26
@ 12:00 noon EST via Zoom
Explore a new world of reversible piecework inspired by traditional Korean bojagi (also called pojagi) - with a modern American twist.
In this hands-on, three-hour live virtual class you will learn specialty seams and hems for creating beautifully reversible single-layer piecework. In addition, you will learn about this amazing historic textile art and be inspired by a mini trunk show. Class participants will build a detailed reference notebook with full written instructions of all these techniques learned in class.
This webinar is perfect for art quilters, fashion sewists, and anyone wanting to explore new ways to create textile art with their sewing machine.
In addition to your registration fee, participants will also need to order one of the following options. These will be ordered directly from Katrina.
Full kit with 100% silk organza fabric (choose one of two colorways) to make a piecing sampler, plus instructions - $32 (including shipping).
Instructions and supply list -$5 (With this option, you supply your own fabric: any lightweight, crisp fabric, silk or otherwise, that is the same on both sides, may be used. Cotton batiste or fine linen would also be a good choice. Natural fibers only, please!)
Both options are available through Katrina’s Etsy shop. Deadline for ordering the kit option is March 7th. Kits will be shipped on March 10th. The downloadable instructions/supply list option can be ordered any time.
Instructions for purchasing/downloading class materials will be emailed to you once registration/payment is received.
